What a privilege it has been to support the University of Paris I: Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne team in their preparation for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the world’s largest moot court competition dedicated to public international law, bringing together 800 law schools from more than 100 countries every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After months of work, of arguments rehearsed and refined, the team qualified and represented France at the international rounds in Washington, alongside the Sciences Po Paris team. Joseph Storey, Amandine Osbourne, Naomi Walden, Anna Tikhomirova and Erwan Morvan: you were remarkable. Your rigour, your high standards, and your team spirit are truly admirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A special word for Sakda Sau, who coached them with exceptional dedication and exacting commitment. My thanks also go to Andrea Oussadon, who supported them throughout this journey with unwavering engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accompanying them to Washington this year took me back to 1991, when I myself was preparing for this competition alongside Peter Griffin, Krysten de Lima and David Reed, as students at the Universit\u00e9 Paris I Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne. The Jessup means sleepless nights, arguments reworked ten times over, passionate debates between teammates, and that unique feeling of carrying a fictional case for months as though it were truly your own. It is an experience that shapes you lastingly: the discipline of legal reasoning, a passion for international law, and a spirit of camaraderie. To return to that world, this time from the other side, alongside these students, sharing a little of what one has received, and watching them surpass themselves, has been a genuine privilege.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
