While Europe’s vision of ethics, humanism and the protection of individuals is fair, laudable and necessary, we must not lose sight of the overall constraints imposed on European businesses and innovation. According to the Trendeo barometer for 2024, European investments abroad ($412 billion) far outstrip intra-European investments ($256 billion), and are mainly directed towards the United States. This may be explained by the rise of protectionism, but over-regulation is certainly a factor. We need a European leap forward to preserve European innovation and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
